γ射線輻射對空間光學玻璃透射率的影響

Gamma ray radiation effects on the transmissivity of some optical glasses in space

  • 摘要: 利用60Co γ-射線對鋇冕玻璃(BaK3)、鑭冕玻璃(LaK3)、火石玻璃(F10)、鑭火石玻璃(LaF3)、輕火石玻璃(QF3)和重火石玻璃(ZF4)進行輻照,研究不同輻照劑量對光學透射率的影響及這些玻璃在空間光學系統(tǒng)中的適應性。光學透射率測試范圍為400~1 100 nm。結果表明所有玻璃在輻照后可見光透射率都下降了,而在近紅外波段下降不明顯(除了QF3和LaF3)。盡管F10和QF3光學透射率在輻照前相似,但是輻照后F10衰減是所有玻璃中最小的,而QF3衰減最為嚴重。研究發(fā)現(xiàn),當達到一定輻照劑量后,玻璃材料的透射率不再繼續(xù)衰減,而是趨于穩(wěn)定。這些結果為空間光學系統(tǒng)針對輻射進行冗余設計提供了依據(jù)。

     

    Abstract: This paper studies the effects of 60Co gamma ray radiation on the transmissivity of severa1 types of optical glasses, namely, barium crown, flint, light flint, dense flint, lanthanum flint and lanthanum crown. Transmission spectra in the range of 400~1 100 nm were recorded after exposure to various doses of radiation up to 200 kGy. The results show that the visible transmission for all samples decreases, while the near-infrared transmission sees a slight decrease except QF3 and LaF3. Although the flint and light flint glasses are optically similar before the irradiation, they show a different transmissivity loss after the irradiation, and light flint glass shows the strongest sensitivity with respect to gamma radiation. When the dose increases to some extent, the transmissivity reaches a steady value, ceasing to decrease.These results may help improving radiation tolerance designs for space optical systems.
